Once you’ve purchased flights and accommodations, you’re going to want to select activities. Medellin has a plethora of activities for any group. Whether you’re an adventure seeker or a history buff, we’ve got the right itinerary for you. But what are the best Medellin tours and how do you go about planning them?
Most of our groups are here on 4-day weekends where more emphasis is placed on nightlife. But our goal is to have every group become immersed in the culture along with late-night debauchery.
Medellin Tours
It is no secret that many know Medellin for its Pablo Escobar stories. But there is much more to the city than what he left behind.
Here are a few of the tours that we offer:
- Comuna 13 Grafitti Tour
- ATV Tours
- Medellin City Tours / Gondola Lifts
- Paragliding
- Medellin Helicopter Tours
- Guatape Excursion
- Guatape Boat Party
- Medellin Soccer Experience

- Chocolate-making & tasting excursions
- Tejo in Medellin
- Horseback riding
These are a dozen of our most popular tours. We also have another half dozen tours that can be customized. Tours more suitable for adventure seekers that focus more on daytime than nightlife.
Selecting the perfect 3 Medellin Tours
Most groups spend 4-day weekends here which implies at the very least, 2 excursions.
But don’t worry, our goal isn’t to try and drag you out of bed at 8 am after a long night out. Our excursions are private and custom-made. That means, we’ve personalized tours to accommodate bachelor party times.
Our earliest tour begins at 9 am but this is the Guatape Tour and that’s only because it’s 90 minutes away.
After a decade of planning bachelor parties in Medellin, we believe the following 3 tours are the best options.
Comuna 13 Graffiti Tour
Back in 2015, the Netflix series, Narcos was at the top of everyone’s list of best series. This overnight hit triggered thousands of flights over to Medellin and the Pablo Escobar tour was born.
But after a year or two of visits to his grave and congregating outside of his buildings, residents were fed up. In fact, the mayor at the time even demolished his infamous Monaco building.
We say that to say this, the Pablo Escobar tour isn’t what it once was. Enter Comuna 13. Once considered Latin America’s most dangerous neighborhood. San Javier became famous for different reasons.
After a military intervention (in a neighborhood) in 2002, where hundreds were killed. Comuna 13 was “cleaned up”. This wasn’t without the loss and disappearance of hundreds but the neighborhood flourished.
Today, its residents have used art in the form of graffiti, street dancing, and food to express their feelings. This has prompted Comuna 13 to become a very popular Medellin attraction.
Enjoy street dancers, soccer with local children, and amazing views of the city. You’ll also have an English-speaking guide explaining in depth the gruesome history of this beautiful neighborhood.
There is also a gondola lift that takes up all the way up the mountain and see how thousands of locals get to and from work.
This tour is for groups and single travelers looking to get a crash course in Paisa culture and history. Before, during, and after Pablo Escobar.
Guatape Excursion & Guatape Boat Party
If you’re here on a 4-day weekend, Guatape is a must. A small town 2 hours away from Medellin, Guatape is packed with culture and beauty.
A town flooded in the 1970s to build a hydroelectric dam, Guatape is an instant favorite. From the little island-like areas on the lake to the 5,000-year-old monolith that represents the town. Guatape is a great daytime experience.
We start the day off by picking you up at 9 am. After a quick stop at a local farm for traditional breakfast, we then head over to the monolith.
One hour and 700 stairs to climb later, you reach the summit. The view and a cold beer will have this worth your early morning start time.
If that’s not all, the next stop is the dock for our Guatape boat party. We stock up on a pontoon or wakeboarding boat with local beers and snacks. After a few hours on this booze cruise, we then head over to the town for lunch.
The Guatape excursion takes up the entire day, so plan accordingly. This tour is for groups who enjoy the water and want to steer away from the beaten path that is El Poblado.
ATVs in Medellin
Once you’ve knocked off the cultural excursions from your list, it’s time to haul ass. What better way to do so than on the back of a grizzly or raptor quad?
Medellin’s rural terrain is perfect for ATV tours and we offer the best trails. A mix of mountain, forest, and farm life, we take you to the very best locations.
We start the day off at 10:30 am, which gives you more than enough time to nurse a hangover. Be sure to pack an extra pair of clothes as these trails can get messy.
Medellin ATV tours are very popular because it’s a good way for everyone to take part at the same time. We also stop at a local trout farm and watering hole for a cold Colombian brew.
We have a 2,3 and 4-hour option. Once the tour is complete, we recommend a massage session at your hotel or Airbnb to unwind. The perfect way to rest up before a pregame session.
Honorable mentions
We recommend those 3 tours because they combine thrill, culture, and sightseeing. With 3 tours you get to see the very best of Medellin during the day and have more than enough time to dive deep into Medellin nightlife.
A few honorable mentions are:
- Coffee Tour excursion: Great learning experience to see how coffee is grown, picked and roasted.
- Paragliding: For thrill-seekers who want a bird’s eye view of the Aburra Valley.
