Any trip to Medellin is bound to have one or two nights where you want to get wild. Not wild in the sense of anything too crazy but to explore this exotic paradise. The best way to do this is via Medellin nightlife.
If you’re in Medellin for a few nights, you’re going to want to explore its eclectic nightlife scene. But how and where? Here are 5 tips for Medellin nightlife.
#1 – Clubbing in Medellin
Many people that come to Medellin are immediately drawn by its nightlife. Not because of the crazy, big clubs, but because of Parque Lleras. This park the center of the El Poblado neighborhood and on any given night, a great place to be.
If this is your first time in Medellin, we recommend heading over to Parque Lleras and checking out the area. Its long streets and green areas make it an instant fan favorite. But what does this have to do with clubbing?
Most of Medellin’s best clubs are in the area and are always popular. What we recommend you do is not commit to any club on your first night out. Surely you’ll enjoy the park and bar hop, taking in the sites (not to mention the swarms of tens that congregate in the area). Once you’ve hung out in the park for about an hour, we recommend checking out one of the following clubs:
-
Bolivar – New Reggaeton and old school reggaeton
-
Salon Amador – Deep house, live DJs
-
La Ruana de Juana – Crossover (reggaeton, salsa, bachata, merengue)
#2 – Best Women in Medellin
If you’re here on a bachelor party-like trip and even if you’re not, you’ll still want to be around beautiful women.
Women in Medellin always aim to look their best and with so many women out and about, competition is fierce. This category is somewhat redundant because anywhere you go, the women will be amazing. Parque Lleras, Provenza and even the rougher areas (Bello, Manrique, Aranjuez) will have what you’re looking for.
Medellin nightlife can get clicky, meaning girls tend to go out in groups with other guys. So unless a girl at a club gives you the signal (you’ll know). We recommend you don’t approach them like a herd of hyenas (this means you, Miami guys).
People for the most part are friendly but we don’t have to emphasize the disrespect of possibly asking someone else’s girl to dance. Wait for the signal.

#3 – Medellin Nightlife – EDM vs Reggaeton
The two main genres people listen to here are reggaeton and EDM. Reggaeton clubs are about 80% of the clubs here making them easier to find. The women are more approachable and the music is easier to dance to.
The top Reggaeton clubs are Bolivar (Parque Lleras), La Chula (Las Palmas), Perro Negro (Provenza), and Vinthrash (Provenza).
The top-rated EDM spot and not even close is Salon Amador (Provenza). The women here are more tourists and tend to not be as approachable.
#4 – Parque Lleras vs Provenza
Parque Lleras has the slight advantage of being bigger and having more people on any given night. For many, it is a culture shock due to it having so many lights, trees, and people. It is beautiful and the mix of restaurants, bars, and clubs makes it a great place to people watch.
Provenza is 3 blocks over and offers a similar setup but instead of it being a park, it’s one long street. This street has reggaeton clubs such as Vinthrash and Perro Negro. As well as lively restaurants such as Burdo, Gato, Bastardo, and Belisario.
#5 Best Nights to go out in Medellin
Medellin hasn’t hit the “touristy” level that Cartagena, Colombia has reached so, isn’t great every night.
If you find yourself here on Monday or Tuesday nights, options are limited. Other than strip clubs in Medellin or hanging out right in the park, there isn’t much to do. The best nights to go out in Medellin are Thursdays (ladies’ night) and of course, Friday and Saturdays. Wednesday and Sunday are a hit or miss.
