When can I visit Medellin, Colombia again?
In May, the Colombian president announced the country has closed off its borders. Not only are international flights banned. But he also shut down domestic flights.
President Duque provided the country with an opening date of September 1st.
Traveling to Medellin is postponed till after summer of 2020. But come September 1st, you can reap the benefits of a somewhat less touristy city.
With Covid-19 affecting so many people in every industry. The few groups that can still afford a weekend away will have a blast.
Will Medellin, Colombia be safe to Travel to?
Colombia has actually done a lot more in terms of staying safe than most other countries. It actually took president Duque a few extra weeks to close off our borders.
Despite this, the country’s strict laws as far as citizens gallivanting, made us have one of the lowest infection rates in Latin America.

What’s new in Medellin after Covid-19
Covid-19 hit many industries pretty hard and unfortunately. Many organizations were forced to close. The once-booming Parque Lleras with a barrage of bars and nightclubs will go through a renaissance next year.
To this day, dozens of restaurants and nightclubs closed down for good. In fact, traveling to Medellin will have you discover that your favorite eatery or Medellin nightclub might not be with us.
As long as Medellin strip clubs still have a deep roster and are still operational. Many could do without food, but restaurants have suffered.
In the past few weeks, Medellin nightclubs like Dulce Jesus Mio and Mangos as well as restaurants like Al Rojo, and Basilica are all part of the city’s heritage. Unfortunately shut down.
The Medellin nightlife industry is huge and establishments need to hold on for another 3 months.
