Most stag party groups will do little to no research before they choose a destination. The ones that do some research will end up taking the safe route and staying at a hotel.
Not to say that it’s a bad idea. But hotels in Medellin have so many restrictions that they even charge you an extra $100 per “guest ” to stop the partying. If you already booked a hotel, don’t worry, we can work around this. But don’t expect to throw your daytime party in your master suite.
The city of Medellin is the capital of the department of Antioquia and this state has over 100 surrounding towns. The closest towns are where locals have their weekend homes most of which are amazing.
Some of these towns are:
Sabaneta – About 25 minutes south of Medellin
Copacabana – About 40 minutes north of Medellin
Girardota – About 1 hour north of Medellin
San Jeronimo – About 75 minutes away from Medellin
Santa fe de Antioquia – About 90 minutes away from Medellin
There are a bunch of others but we recommend these as they’re not only the closest. But also feature some of the best pool party venues around.
We like to use a few websites that help with the venue selection process both of which have been around for years. These are fincas VIP and Alquile su finca but, they’re in Spanish. If you need extra guidance, don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
From the locations we described above. Sabaneta will be the fastest to get to which also means you’ll spend less on transportation to and from. But, the villas aren’t baller status as this is still within city limits. Copacabana and Girardota would be my go-to locations.
Special tip – When speaking to someone at the villa rental agency. Make sure you request a villa with easy access by van. Make sure the address and map are clear before the event. You’ll also want to be sure and ask them if they allow DJs.
Last but not least, there are a plethora of villas located within Medellin that you can rent as well. Now, these are harder to come by as many require bookings for more than 1 night (you only need it for a few hours). But contact us today, you might be in luck.
Private Transportation in Medellin
Remember, the items on this list are in no particular order of importance. But let’s check off the pillars of the checklist before the actual fun stuff.
Depending on the location of the party be it Santa Fe, San Jeronimo or Copacabana. You’re going to need to rent private transportation. I don’t know how many you are or how many hostesses will be enough to satisfy the groom. But you will need to get there comfortably.
We recommend hiring a private transportation company that will provide you with a quote based on location and not time. Let me repeat, location and not time.
There are a plethora of transportation companies that will charge you based on time. This ultimately has had a few groups scrambling to stay on budget. There’s a cool transportation company headquartered right here in the city of eternal spring.
Aeroturex is a transportation agency in Medellin with a fleet of vehicles for all group sizes. They might not specialize in bachelor parties in Medellin or private pool parties in Medellin. But they’ll get you to where you want to be.

Ok, guys, now that we’ve got the venue and how to get there, we’re making our way down to the fun part of the list.
The part of the list where you’re past the essential and now want to actually begin to plan your party.
A DJ in Medellin for a private pool party is fundamental as they will make or break any event. You don’t want to be the one stuck choosing a playlist and even if you do, you shouldn’t stick to your music.
We’ve come to discover that even though you’re putting this together. It’s good to alternate between the music you like and the music the hostesses like. This group of females will ensure the party is lit and though you might not look forward to a reggaeton-filled afternoon, it will grow on you.
Back to the DJ in Medellin. You’re going to want to select a DJ that will cater to everyone’s needs. Someone that can play anything from ‘guaracha’ (the type of EDM the girls listen to). Old and new school reggaeton, and, a little 90s hip hop to get the boys going.

Back when we first started hosting Medellin bachelor parties. There was a long-standing tradition that the host (i.e me), would also be the one to cook at the pool parties.
Then, for the more exotic groups, like my West Indian brothers would have a designated chef cooking up a storm for his boys at the villas. Sadly, though, these interim chefs wouldn’t get to enjoy the party. This is why we began to put together packages that included some of the best freelance chefs in Medellin.

Girls are always hungry. Doesn’t matter what time you bring them to a party, they’re ALWAYS hungry. So for those who figured you could order a pizza in the middle of nowhere to feed your starving roster, this is out of the question.

Asado is the Spanish word for BBQ in many Spanish-speaking countries and these guys know a thing or two about traditional cookouts.
We advise you against cooking for yourselves. These pool parties cost a pretty penny and even if you have a friend that won’t be partaking in the action. The logistics behind grocery shopping and getting around with this stuff is a pain in the ass.
Bartenders in Medellin
There are a few ways to go about this. Most groups will stock up on alcohol at Duty-Free stateside. But for the crews that didn’t have time or need to re-stock, we have a few options.

For the uber VIP crew that wants no part in walking around with coolers, serving drinks, and want everything to be done for them. There’s an awesome new company based out of Medellin that specializes in private events. Here’s their Instagram handle.
@VoozebyViuz – Vooze is a catering company that specializes in cocktails and private bartenders in Medellin. We used them a few months ago for a private event and haven’t looked back since. They bring tables, glasses, and pretty much any alcohol you can think of here in Medellin. Be sure to ask them beforehand which cocktails you want and they’ll bring everything from the bartender and barback to ice and garnishes.
The second option as far as a bartender for your private pool party is stocking up on alcohol upon arrival. The best place for this would be –
@JRrdistribuidora – This is a liquor store located in Parque Lleras. They might not have every flavored Vodka the picky bachelor likes but they have a good collection of Whiskies and Colombian rums.
Since I know how forgetful you guys can be, here’s a list of items you need to pick up at the liquor store.
Beers (no Whiteclaws found in Colombia, yet..)
Ice (pick this up on the way to the actual Finca)
Cooler – Ask your host about purchasing an inexpensive styrofoam cooler to bring all this shit in
Plastic cups (red solo cups are rare so don’t be surprised if you don’t find them).
Mixers – soda water, limes, OJ, Cranberry, red bull, Gatorade

This was last by design as it will likely be what some of your crews are looking for specifically. A lot of you won’t care about how the other parts get set up. Because as long as there are hostesses present, you’ll pack bologna sandwiches, a few liters of Pepsi, and take the bus. But patience, my friends, it is all these items together that make this event epic.
We’ve hosted 30 of these events and most of the good ones have had a lot in common. While all the bad ones have had a lot of the same in common.
Crews that resort to pulling girls off the street in Parque Lleras to save a few hundred bucks. End up with skidrow-looking females running around raiding the fridge at the villa and stealing hot dog packets (it’s happened). Groups that hit the ground running will spend their first night at Fase Dos or La Isla Strip Clubs. These are the best strip clubs in Medellin and on any given night will have a wide array of girls looking for things to do during the day.
We recommend you have some feelers out and on night 1, grab as many numbers as you can at these Top Medellin Strip Clubs. Don’t go for only looks. Look out for attitude, eagerness to party, and negotiate prices from the get-go. For whatever it is you agree on.
