On Guatape

Guatape is one of the country’s most popular towns. Colorful, picturesque and chock-full of culture.

The town’s main attraction is its 650 foot monolith. Made popular in the 1950s, this rock that’s thought to be 65 million years old has over 700 stairs to reach its summit.

But that’s not all. The town was flooded in the 1970s to build a hydroelectric dam that powers a large percent of the country. Climb the rock, take in the breathtaking views, enjoy a delicious plate of trout and finish off the afternoon with our Guatape Boat Party.
